Medical Devices Technology International Ltd (MDTi) has beat off stiff competition to be highly commended in the Best Innovative Product and Best Knowledge Transfer categories of the prestigious ICT Excellence Awards 2009.

The growing and successful Wolverhampton based company is supported by MidTECH the West Midlands NHS Innovation Hub and was recognised for its home E-Health LUTS self monitoring system.

Wolverhampton-based Medical Devices Technology International Ltd (MDTi) will be working with Numark, the UK's largest virtual chain of independent pharmacists as from October 2009. The aim is to give millions of healthcare sufferers access to innovative healthcare products invented by frontline professionals and patients from within the NHS.

From the inception of MDTi, the company's mantra has been to ensure that access to improved healthcare products at affordable prices was a right and not a pledge to the consumer health marketplace. “We are over the moon to be working with the national chain of retail pharmacies, Numark, who have shown how much they are in-tune with our philosophy and those of the UK consumers,” said Martin Levermore CEO of MDTi.

Medical Devices Technology Int'l (MDTi), in association with the RCN and NHS Innovation Hubs, is to 'Showcase' medical devices based entirely on nurse and patient led innovation on 11 May 2009 at the Harrogate Conference Centre. These medical devices are 'simple' to use and understand but bring about real improvement to the frontline care of patients whilst helping to reduce infection rates and costs within the NHS.
