Dr. Sumathy Nambisan - MBBS, MD, DGO, DFFP PDF Print

dr-nambisam.jpgDr. Sumathy Nambisan is from Kerala State in Southern India, and has lived in Walsall for 32 years. She qualified as a medical Doctor from Madras Medical College in India in 1970 and did voluntary work in a Mission Hospital in Kerala before coming to England.

She moved to Walsall in 1972, worked in partnership with her husband in Pelsall in the first Purpose Built Surgery in Walsall, and since her husband's death in 1987, she has continued to practice in Pelsall as a Single Handed General Practitioner.

She is a member of the Walsall Hospice Trustee Board, Local Medical Committee Board and Practice Commissioning Board and she was recently elected as a GP Cancer Lead for Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust.

She has two sons; one who is a qualified Doctor specialising in Palliative Medicine and the other who is a Barrister.
