From the inception of MDTi, the company's mantra has been to ensure that access to improved healthcare products at affordable prices was a right and not a pledge to the consumer health marketplace. “We are over the moon to be working with the national chain of retail pharmacies, Numark, who have shown how much they are in-tune with our philosophy and those of the UK consumers,” said Martin Levermore CEO of MDTi. Dr David Gleaves CEO of MidTECH NHS Innovation West Midlands commented. "We never cease to be impressed by the enthusiasm, creativity and commitment demonstrated by NHS employees and their ingenuity when it comes to developing new initiatives to improve care for patients. Innovative companies like MDTi play a vital role in translating these ideas into products and bringing these products to market. As the organisation charged with bringing NHS innovations and industry together, MidTECH is delighted that, as one of our leading licensees, MDTI has secured a partnership with Numark, ensuring that these products are available to the wider community in pharmacies throughout the UK." MDTi's products will be available from Numark pharmacies. They are all simple to use and provide many cost effective benefits. Healthcare professionals will be able to offer advice on products and their benefits. On offer initially will be the Physio-master®, a self inflating vascular cushion, which not only helps treat vascular conditions, but also is helpful in treating strokes and preventing the incidence of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). Alongside the Physio-master® comes the Ortho-glide®, a product to use for rehabilitation following knee and hip surgery; the Femmax®, a set of vaginal dilators to use following lower pelvic radiotherapy and also for sexual dysfunction and the RhinoPinch®, a nose-clip to stem nose bleeds. All MDTi products sit within the NHS and support the move of treatment away from acute care to the self management of conditions. Users in the community can now benefit from tried and tested NHS products in the home. |

Wolverhampton-based Medical Devices Technology International Ltd (MDTi) will be working with Numark, the UK's largest virtual chain of independent pharmacists as from October 2009. The aim is to give millions of healthcare sufferers access to innovative healthcare products invented by frontline professionals and patients from within the NHS.
